Rates have been calculated using registered births as a denominator.
The definition of a stillbirth changed on 1/10/1992 and now includes loss of foetus after 24 weeks of pregnancy.
The data does not include cases where the foetus was born dead before 24 weeks of pregnancy.
NISRA have recalculated births from 1992 based on 2001 census therefore rates may differ slightly from those previously published.
